What is Revenue in Boxify?
In Boxify, Revenue refers to the total value of orders that are confirmed and ready to be fulfilled.
Because Boxify uses a stacking mechanism, revenue is not calculated the same way as traditional order-based systems.
Revenue in Boxify is:
- NOT based on order creation date
- NOT based on payment status alone
- Based on the order status
This ensures only confirmed and fulfilled orders are recognised as revenue.
How Revenue is Calculated in Boxify
An order is counted as Revenue when its status is:
- Ready to Ship
- Shipped
These statuses indicate:
- Stock has been confirmed
- Order is prepared for delivery
- The order is unlikely to be cancelled
Orders in other statuses will NOT be included in Revenue.
Why Revenue May Differ from Sales Report
Boxify uses a stacking system, which means:
A customer may:
- Purchase Item A on Day 1
- Add Item B on Day 3
- Both items are combined into ONE order
In this case:
- The Sales Report counts based on the item date
- The Revenue Report counts based on the order status
This may result in differences between:
- Sales figures
- Revenue figures
- Payment received figures
This is normal behaviour in a stacking-based system.
Example Scenario
Day 1: Customer places order (Status: Active)
Day 2: Customer pays (Status: Paid)
Day 3: Order prepared (Status: Ready to Ship)
The order will only be counted as Revenue on Day 3, when it reaches Ready to Ship status.
What Is Not Counted as Revenue?
Orders with the following statuses are NOT counted as Revenue:
- Active
- Paid
- Waiting for payment
- Waiting for online payment
- On hold
- No stack
- Locked
- Preorder
These orders are considered part of Pending Revenue and will only be recognised once they reach the appropriate status.
