Set up the Waitlists

The Waitlist feature lets customers join a waiting list for out-of-stock items. When stock is restored, Boxify automatically sends them a Messenger notification. Setting it up requires two steps: getting Facebook’s permission first, then enabling the feature in Boxify.

Part 1 — Request Permission from Facebook

Facebook requires Pages to request access before sending One-time notifications (OTN). OTN is the Facebook feature that sends a single Messenger message to a customer outside the standard 24-hour window — with the customer’s consent.

1. Go to your Facebook Page › Meta Business Suite › All Tools › Page Settings › New Pages Experience › Advanced Messaging.
2. Scroll down to Requested Features and find One-time Notification.
3. Click Edit, then click Confirm to submit your request to Facebook for review.

Caution

Follow Facebook’s One-time Notification policy when using this feature. The restock message must match what the customer signed up for. Pages that receive high volumes of negative feedback will lose access to OTN. Review the OTN Restrictions and Limitations before going live.

Part 2 — Enable Waitlists in Boxify

1. Go to Settings › Parameters in Boxify.
2. Scroll down to the Waitlists section.
3. Tick the checkbox to enable the waitlist.
4. Write the restock message that will be sent to customers via Messenger when their item is back in stock.

Once enabled, customers can join a waitlist for any out-of-stock product, and Boxify will send the restock notification automatically.
