Print Order Items with a Thermal Printer

Open in ChatGPT

Use these steps to print order item labels with a Niimbot B21 thermal printer.

  • You need a Niimbot B21 printer (approximately RM170).
  • You need a PC with a free USB port.
  • Connect the printer directly to your PC with a USB cable — do not use a USB extension.
  • Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a desktop computer. Label printing needs the browser’s serial port feature, which Safari, Firefox, and phone browsers do not support.
  1. Turn on the printer by holding down the power button.
  2. Insert the sticker label into the printer with the label facing down. The printer will auto-calibrate the label position.
  3. Open Boxify and go to Order Items in the left menu.
  4. Tick one item to do a test print first.
  5. Click Label in the top right.
  6. Choose your label size and text size, then print. The dialog suggests 50mm * 30mm for the Niimbot B21.
  7. Print again. Your label should print correctly from the second attempt.

Label sizes available: 50 x 30 mm, 40 x 20 mm, and 30 x 20 mm.

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Check that the printer is listed under Ports (COM & LPT) or Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  3. Right-click the driver and select Update driver.
  4. Choose Browse my computer for driver software.
  5. Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
  6. Select USB Serial Device from the list.
  7. Restart your PC and retry.
