Facebook's Graphic Overlay
This article shows you how to add a graphic overlay — a custom image displayed on top of your live video — to make your broadcast look more professional.
Common uses for overlays include:
- Brand logo
- Live title
- Product details
- Order instructions (for example, “Comment ABC +1 to order”)
- Countdown timers
How to add a graphic overlay
Section titled “How to add a graphic overlay”You can add overlays using Facebook Live Producer / Meta Live Studio or a third-party tool such as OBS or Streamyard.
1. Start a Facebook Live
Section titled “1. Start a Facebook Live”- Go to your Facebook Page.
- Click Live.
- Choose Live Producer or Meta Live Studio.
2. Find the overlay setting
Section titled “2. Find the overlay setting”Look for a button or section labelled Graphics, Overlay, or Add Image inside the live setup screen. The exact label may vary depending on your version of Facebook.
3. Upload your image
Section titled “3. Upload your image”Upload a transparent PNG file. Good choices include:
- Your logo
- A banner that says “Comment keyword + quantity to order”
- A welcome title
- A product highlight banner
4. Position the overlay
Section titled “4. Position the overlay”- Drag the overlay to where you want it on screen (top, bottom, corners, or centre).
- Resize it if needed.
5. Go live
Section titled “5. Go live”Start or continue your live session. Your overlay will appear on the video.
